About

I am an applied microeconomist focusing on the impact of tail events---most notably climate change---on food and agricultural systems. My work centers on measuring and understanding these tail events, where the standard econometric-toolkit may not be appropriate. Applications of this work includes risk, resiliency, and policy.

Originally from Vancouver, BC, I earned my PhD from the University of California Davis in 2020. Since August 2020, I have been an assistant professor in agricultural policy at Purdue University. My work has been published in leading academic outlets, including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, PLOS ONE, and the Southern Economic Journal. I currently teach a PhD-level class on policy analysis and an undergraduate class on agri-business.
